The ACT contains multiple-choice tests in four areas: English, Math, Reading and Science. The writing test is optional and will not affect your composite score.

Grade 11 Students: Use the link here to sign up for the ACT test.
Registration closes on February 16. Once registration has closed, you will be sent a link via email on how to pay the ACT test fee of $50.50 per student. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch are able to take the test at no cost.

The PSAT is offered by BHS one time per year in the Fall to juniors. The PSAT is a great practice for the SAT and ACT, but is also used as a qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship Program. This test may be held during the school day or on a weekend. PSAT is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the cost is $18. After registering for PSAT, be sure to pick up your Student Practice Guide in the Student Success Center!

The ASVAB (Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery) is an aptitude test and interest assessment. It is appropriate for students who are unsure of their plans after graduation, planning on attending a 2 year community or technical college, or entering the workforce. There is a college/career interest inventory segment on the ASVAB test that helps students with identifying potential career pathways. Free of charge.
