Dear Warrior Students and Parents/Guardians:

Happy summer! My name is Dr. Karrie Boser, and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Brainerd High School. This letter provides you with back-to-school information to help you plan for the new year. Please read and review the details below to prepare for a successful start.

The first day of school will be on Tuesday, September 2.

Brainerd High School Open House:  BHS will host an Open House for students/parents/guardians on Wednesday, August 27 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  There is a meeting for parents/guardians of all GRADE 9 and New Students at 5:30 in the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts.  Student leaders and staff will provide support in finding classrooms.

Student Class Schedules:  On Friday, August 15th at 4:00 pm, student schedules will be available via Skyward.  Please know that changes to a student schedule may occur up to the first day of school to help balance classes and ensure appropriate placement in required classes.

Walk-In Schedule Changes:  Licensed school counselors and administrators will be available from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20 and Friday, August 22 for any students who would like to walk-in and make schedule change requests.  No appointment necessary on these days.

Parking Permits:  Parking permits are limited, so plan to purchase early. The graduating class of 2026 (Seniors) will be able to purchase a parking permit beginning Monday, August 25 at 8:00 a.m. with a debit or credit card or come to the Main Office at BHS with cash or check.  If you purchase online, students will need to pick up their purchased permit in the Main Office at BHS before the first day of school. Juniors will be able to purchase parking permits starting Wednesday, August 27 at 8:00 a.m. with debit or credit card OR come to the Main Office at BHS with cash or check. The credit card link will be provided prior to the date available for purchase.  As a reminder, the student parking permit is valid for students remaining in good standing and is non-transferable.  If you have questions related to student parking please contact Assistant Principal Craig Kotsmith at bhs.parking@isd181.org.  Parking passes are $50 for the school year.
